Quarter Sawn White Oak Cutting Board Blanks

Quarter Sawn White Oak lumber displays prominent rays. These are also referred to as tiger-rays, ray fleck, ray flakes and fleck patterns. Quarter sawn lumber is cut radially from the bark to the heart producing ribbon figured. In addition Quarter Sawn White Oak Lumber has more figure than other quarter sawn lumbers due is large and wide rays/grain pattern.

Quarter Sawn White Oak has heartwood that can vary in color from light tan or pale yellow-brown to dark or pale brown, and can have a pinkish tint. Furthermore, the wood usually has straight, open grain, and is medium to coarse in texture. Above all, it has more figure than Red Oak and therefore displays more figure. The sapwood is whitish to light brown, and varies in width.

If you are picking up locally, you are welcome to get as few or as many as you would like. If, however, you need your lumber shipped, our minimum order for cutting board blanks is 12 pieces. You can get 12 of a kind, or mix and match to get whatever combination you like.
