Northern Birch Lumber
Birch is a domestic wood reported to be full of natural waxes that render it waterproof. The tough and durable bark is also reported to remain in the soil long after the inside of the tree has rotted away. The fully grown tree is reported to be often 70 to 100 feet in height and 30 inches in diameter. Bending strength in the air-dry condition is very high. Compression strength parallel to grain in the air-dry condition is high. Hardness is rated as medium, and the wood is heavy.
We stock FAS grade Northern Birch at our headquarters in Spring, TX. All our dimensional lumber is milled S3S, and the prices listed below are the per-board-foot prices.
If you are picking up locally, you are welcome to get as little or as much as you need. If, however, you need your lumber shipped, we require a minimum purchase of 250BF.
Freight rates for dimensional lumber must be calculated (on our end) before we are able to process your order, and this will vary, depending on the amount of lumber you need, distance, etc. Therefore, before placing an order for full length dimensional lumber, we ask that you please send us a message so that we can generate a quote for you.
